Nema
Order management for a fresh produce distributor: stores place orders, buyers quote and price, and checkers verify everything against physical stock on delivery day.

Project Overview
Nema is custom software built for Nema Hortifruti, a fruit and vegetable distributor that serves retail stores and restaurants. Every order goes through many hands: the store that places it, the buyer who quotes and prices it, the checker who picks and verifies it on delivery day.
I led the project end to end: understanding the operation, product design, architecture, development and continuous evolution.
The Challenge
Fresh produce is unforgiving: prices change every day, the goods are perishable, and the same item is sold by the box, by the kilo or by the unit. The system had to reflect that reality without forcing anyone to change the way they already worked.
Orders arrive as free text, full of abbreviations and typos, and the catalog comes from an ERP spreadsheet with thousands of items going in and out of stock.
The Solution
A single system with four front doors: administration, purchasing (quotes and pricing per price table), checking, and a dedicated portal where each store places its own orders.
Text order import: each pasted line is scored against the whole catalog and comes back with a confidence level, so a person reviews it before confirming. That is how "catalupe" turns into the right melon.
Full catalog sync from the ERP spreadsheet, keeping order history intact even when a product is discontinued, plus conversion between sales and stock units.
A realtime order board, a purchase list generated from what is missing in stock, and price catalogs exported to PDF and Excel.
Results & Impact
The MVP shipped in August 2025 and the system is in production at the distributor. In 2026 it grew to cover stock, quotes and pricing.
A 23-line text order is parsed in about 450 ms, against a catalog of more than 4,300 product units.
Around 30 feature test suites and CI running lint and tests on every change protect critical rules such as stock deduction.
