Mavielo

Mavielo is a simple, interactive and smart ecosystem built for agribusiness professionals, rural producers and students. A first-class networking platform where you can connect, make new friends, stay informed and develop business opportunities.

My biggest challenge was my lack of knowledge of agribusiness, a hard-to-reach market due to the culture of large farm owners and the remote location of small producers.

On top of that, none of the available data reflected the reality of the producers we interviewed to validate our hypotheses, which made designing a high-impact product even harder.

Since the project was founded by a major farm owner, we were able to open significant doors in a market that is rarely receptive. We then went door to door — large, medium and small producers, agribusiness professionals and agronomy students — to finally make tangible how to connect all these stakeholders in a single place.

Available on Android and iOS. The app was built with React Native, bringing development speed and more affordable costs for the company's early stage.

The backend runs on a powerful architecture inspired by Instagram and TikTok, combining Node.js microservices for the social network with a monolith written in Nest.js.

The architecture includes 9 isolated services for processing image, text and video content, plus a realtime integration for private and group chats, delivering the value of connection and networking among the members of the ecosystem.

From its launch in July 2023 to February 2024, the platform reached more than 5,000 users covering over 500,000 ha.
